Arrival in Cape Town

After nearly 24 hiurs of travelling we emerged into a cloudless Cape Town morning. The flights to Dubai and Cape Town went very smoothly although, sadly, a passenger on our flight from to Cape Town became seriously ill and we were told that we may have to land so the could get them medical help. However, we didn't land early but on arrival, we heard that they had died on the flight. Rather a sad start.

Howver, we were cheered by our first sighting of Tabke Mountain and the drive into Cape Town was fabulous with bright blue sea and sky.Checked into our lovely waterfront apartment, found by Ben, and then explored tbe Waterfront area. Saw some seals basking  on a platform and then, as we were all tired and starving, went to a waterside restaurant for a late lunch. Ben has decided  to aim to eat ten new types of seafood on this holiday so he ordered the Yellowtail and Angelfish while Hannah went for the Mozambique prawns. Gillie stated that hers was the finest butternut salad she had ever had.

Hours later we emerged. Just had time to buy some essentials then returned for hot baths and a very early night! So tired.
